SOFTER DIGITAL FUTURES • DESIGN DIRECTION, IDENTITY DESIGN, ANIMATION
The focus of the conference this year was to highlight regenerative technological systems and how we might embody more natural systems into our practices. With this in mind, I created a motion-led texture lab - housing generative organic matter, which acted as a library to be utilised across the entire identity - spanning physical and digital.
Additionally taking inspiration from circularity in nature, the identity houses a butterfly bug motif 🦋 which appears throughout, sometimes seen in a circular thorn.
The identity tows the line between digital and natural - femininity and technology: pink, flowers, and bubbles play a part in the intentionality of the ‘soft’-femme-tech aesthetic, which mirrors SOFTERS conversations that question the usual hard, masculine and minimal design tropes that we see within the tech industry.
